Macon is a city located in central Georgia, US. It lies near the geographic center of Georgia, approximately 85 miles (136 km) south of Atlanta, hence the city's nickname as the Heart of Georgia.

In terms of population, Macon is the sixth-largest city in Georgia. Macon lies on the site of the Ocmulgee Old Fields, where the Creek Indians lived, as did their predecessors for as long as 12,000 years before Europeans arrived.

The city thrived due to its location on the Ocmulgee River and cotton became the mainstay of Macon's early economy. Cotton boats, stage coaches, and later, in 1843, a railroad all brought economic prosperity to Macon. Throughout the era of Reconstruction and into the twentieth century, Macon grew into a prospering town in Middle Georgia, and began to serve as a transportation hub for the entire state.

Macon natives have had a great influence upon music of the United States. The kazoo was invented in the city during the 1840s. Macon has been the birthplace or hometown to such musicians as Young Jeezy, The Allman Brothers Band, Randy Crawford, Mark Heard, Lucille Hegamin, Otis Redding, Little Richard, Mike Mills and Bill Berry of R.E.M. as well as more recent names like violinist Robert McDuffie country artist Jason Aldean and Rapper Jody Breeze (1/4 of the hip-hop group Boyz N Da Hood.

Ahmedabad is the seventh largest metropolitan city in India, with a population of approximately 5.2 million. Located on the banks of the River Sabarmati, the city is the administrative centre of Ahmedabad district and was the capital of Gujarat from 1960 to 1970; the capital was shifted to Gandhinagar thereafter. It is the business capital of Gujarat.

Ahmedabad (also known as Amdavad), is one of the major industrial cities in India. Although it retains little evidence of the Raj, it has been called the `Manchester of the East' due to its many textile industries.  Gujarat accounts for 19.69% of fixed capital investment, 16.13% of gross output and 15.35% of net value added in industrial sector in India.

Despite fact that it is a busy textile town, Ahmedabad has a certain charm. In the old city, the superb artistic and aesthetic traditions of Gujarat are visible in its beautiful mosques, Jain temples, unique stone step wells that descend in elaborately decorated levels into the earth and in old houses with their ornately carved wooden balconies and screens.

Modern Ahmedabad has a fine structures-designed by renowned architects like Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn.
